As Newton divorce attorneys, we strive to help our clients overcome some of the most difficult and sensitive family law matters – and we’re also dedicated to giving back to our local communities whenever possible. To support the incredible work done at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, our firm recently threw a charity event for them on March 3rd, 2019 together with our partner Wellesley Bank. On behalf of our entire firm, we’re honored that so many people from our community showed up to raise funds for seriously ill children.
About The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp
Founded by actor and philanthropist Paul Newman back in 1988, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp has a very special mission: To ensure that all children, especially those with terminal illnesses and special needs, are able to “raise a little hell” in a true summer camp experience. The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp also benefits from the expertise of trained medical professionals, nurses, and healers, and has even received support from celebrities like Bradley Cooper and Bridget Moynahan.
With more than 9 programs and 20,000 children served throughout the Northeast each year, this unique charity has touched thousands of lives for the better. By celebrating the true spirit of childhood and the endless possibilities provided at camp, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp offers both hope and healing for kids who live with difficult and painful illnesses.
Raising Funds for Local Charities
Hosting a fine dining event at the Capital Grille in Chestnut Hill, The Halks Firm was proud to sponsor The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp this year, alongside Wellesley Bank and other notable local benefactors. With multiple live auctions, silent auctions, raffles, and an open bar for attendees, we were able to raise more than $13,000 in funds to support this charity, and ensure that many more injured and ill children will have an exciting and memorable camp experience.
